Each of our 8 en-suite rooms is unique and designed to provide a cosy haven. All bedrooms have a generous king or super king size bed, crisp Egyptian cotton bedding, Roberts dab radios, tea & coffee making facilities, water, Ubiety bath products, Smart TVs & free wifi.
We are super-dog-friendly at The White Hart, and our four-legged companions are welcome in the bar, outside terrace and garden and in all our stylish bedrooms. There is a charge of £20 per dog per stay.
All rooms booked direct include a delicious breakfast (unless the rate is a special offer or package and breakfast is specifically excluded).

These 2 smaller rooms are in the centre of the building and have very limited window views, but are furnished to the same high standard.

Room 2
Front and centre of the building, room 2 overlooks the beautiful church and the Grade II listed Buttercross, an ancient monument in Market Place. The room has 2 steps up to an en-suite bathroom with a rolltop bath only, no shower.

Room 1
Overlooking market place and the 13th century church, this room has a double aspect and high ceilings with exposed beams. There is a large waterfall shower over the bath.

Room 3
As the name suggests, this room offers decadent luxury with a 4 poster bed and a bath in the room. It has views of market place and the 13th century church. There is a separate shower room.

Information
Arrival and departure
Check in is from 3pm but it’s always possible the room will be available earlier, so please call us and check. Departure is from 11am although we are happy to leave it until later if there are no incoming guests for the room.
Please note that the hotel does not operate a 24 reception desk, so if you plan to arrive after 10pm please call the hotel in advance so they can arrange access.
Parking
- There is no dedicated car park at The White Hart however there are plenty of FREE short and long stay car spaces in Somerton and within close proximity to the pub.
- There is parking available opposite the pub with a maximum of one hour. There are unrestricted spaces in the car park around Cox’s Yard and on Broad Street within an easy walk.

Children
Dogs
Dogs are welcome in all our rooms at a charge of £20 per dog per stay. However, if you are bringing a dog then they must not be left alone in the bedroom/bathroom at any time unless they are in a secure crate. Your dog can accompany you to the bar and outside terrace or large garden, where we serve our full restaurant menu, so they need not spend any time without you! Any damage caused to the paintwork or furnishings by a dog left unaccompanied will be chargeable.
Cancellation T&Cs
Any Advanced Purchase Early Booker rates must be pre-paid in full at the time of the booking and are non-refundable and non-transferable. For all other bookings we ask that they are cancelled or amended before midnight 7 full days prior to arrival date to avoid a penalty charge of the full stay. Payment for the stay will be taken 7 full days before arrival date.
We ask that bookings of 3 or more rooms are cancelled or amended 14 days prior to arrival date to avoid cancellation charges.
Please note we do not pay commission to 3rd party agents who book direct with the hotel and/or with whom there is no signed, written contract.

Full payment for your booking will be taken 7 full days prior to arrival date, in line with the cancellation policy.

Public Transport
Somerton is a rural village, and thus public transport is limited however there is an hourly bus service to Wells, Glastonbury, Yeovil and Taunton.
By car
The White Hart is easily accessible from the B3151 or B3153 and lies due east of the M5 and due north of the A303.
By train
The nearest train stations are Castle Cary (approximately 20 minutes drive), Yeovil Pen Mill or Yeovil Junction (approximately
25 minutes drive).
Taxi
There are local taxi services that have accessible taxis if required, but they require advance booking. Please ask at the time of booking.
Accessibility
The White Hart is a traditional coaching inn located in the centre of Somerton, close to the edge of the Somerset Levels and Glastonbury. The White Hart offers a public bar, restaurant, garden seating and 8 first floor en suite bedrooms. We want all our guests to feel welcome and to have a relaxing visit. Where possible facilities are in place to accommodate all our visitors but the historic nature of the building means that there are some limitations to what we can offer as outlined in the following paragraphs.
